I found the baked meatballs recipe hidden in one of my old cookbooks, which I used to write my recipes in alphabetical order.

When I started keto, it wasn’t hard to make the baked meatballs recipe low carb, and the addition of cheese keeps the fat a bit higher.

Ingredients for Making Baked Meatballs, Pork, Cheddar and Mustard

  • 2 pounds of Ground Pork
  • 7 ounces of Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons of Dijon Mustard
  • 2 tablespoons of Sugar-Free Maple Syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 cloves of Garlic, crushed
  • 3 tablespoons of Sage, fresh, finely chopped
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon of Salt
  • 1 teaspoon of Pepper

How To Make Baked Meatballs

  1. In a large mixing bowl place all ingredients.
  2. Mix well. We recommend donning a pair of food safe gloves and mixing by hand.
  3. Roll the meat into balls that are the size of 2 tablespoons. We managed to get 30 balls from this mixture.
  4. Preheat oven to 200C/390F.
  5. Place the meatballs onto a lined roasting tray.
  6. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden.

If  you prefer to fry your meatballs

  • Place a large non-stick frying pan over high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and allow to heat up.
  • Fry the meatballs in batches for approximately 15-20 minutes, turning every so often.
  • Serve the meatballs and enjoy.
