I’ve been making a different version of mushroom sauce at just about every restaurant I’ve ever worked in. Most restaurant recipes start with a high carb gravy powder, with a small amount of cream and mushrooms added in – that’s the kind of sauce we’d rather avoid.

  • 1 tablespoon of Butter
  • 1 clove of Garlic, crushed
  • 1 small Onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon of Salt
  • Pinch of Pepper, ground
  • 7 ounces of Mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 5 teaspoons of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of Dijon Mustard
  • ½ cup of Heavy Cream
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh Tarragon, finely chopped

  1. Place a saucepan over high heat, add the butter, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper and saute until the onions start to turn translucent.
  2. Add the mushrooms and saute for 3 minutes before dropping the heat to low.
  3. Add the Worcestershire sauce, dijon mustard, and cream. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  4. Stir through the tarragon and serve.

  1. Just delicious! My husband said this was restaurant level quality. I made it for a family dinner and it went over INCREDIBLY well. I love how there is plenty of proper seasoning. So many other “Keto” websites do not seem to think this needed. Perhaps for many, it is not needed, but we enjoy having wonderfully flavored meals.
